WITH OR WITHOUT.........

Dear me, I have finally found some time to post on my blog.

The last few weeks of term are always so busy - sports days, school trips, concerts, etc and as a result I have neglected my blog (again)!!!

I have also had a couple of disappointing messages via my etsy shop in the last couple of weeks too!!! Unfortunately, a couple of pictures that I dispatched broke by the time they reached their lovely customers. The frames in both cases were completely smashed to pieces on arrival at their new homes. Very upsetting for the recipient!!!

It's strange as I have sent out several pictures over the last few months and have never had a problem but two have smashed within the last couple of weeks. As a result, I have debated whether to sell my artwork with or without frames and have come to the conclusion that I will sell my pieces unframed but mounted so they will fit into 'off the shelf' frames (notably ikea; as I know they are reasonably priced).

I have listed a few new pieces of artwork in my etsy shop and they are designed to fit ikea 23cm frames.

I am working on some more designs and plan to make some larger pictures similar to the ones in the photograph below. These were designed for my solo exhibition at Mushroom Works last year!

  1. Ugh, that's so disappointing, I get that horrible pit of my stomach feeling if anything ever goes wrong with my etsy orders. Thankfully I've only had it happen twice.
Your pieces are beautiful and I'm sure people will be happy to buy their own frames, especially if you give details for affordable frames in the item description.

  2. Shame about the frames- when the post works it is great, but when it doesn't,disaster.Broken glass and artwork don't mix!Customers do like to get something ready to just put on the wall, but I think you are wise not to risk it,way too much hassle for all concerned when things get lost/broken in the post.I now only post to the UK after things repeatedly going missing en route, despite being tracked.
    Lovely pictures...

  3. I love your framed work. Pity about the problem with the glass. I think Ikea sell some frames with glass imitation (plastic), but glass is nicer.

  4. You should definately sell them without the frames. It makes it easier and cheaper to post and means the buyers can choose a frame to match the room or maybe use one they already have. I personally always buy unframed if I'm buying it over the internet, nothing worse than receiving something broken. Have to say I love your sunset pic I have it saved as one of my favourites on etsy I'm frantically saving my pennies lol. Can't wait to see what you'll produce next.
